From Panská Skála in the Lusatian Mountains in Search of Extraordinary Experiences

Summer vacation is in full swing, the warm summer days beckon you to seek adventure, but you have grown tired of ordinary hikes? We have got you covered – experience the Lusatian Mountains from behind the handlebars of a scooter, admire them through the window of a historic train, take in the view from a secured via ferrata, and get to know them firsthand by taking a dip in a refreshing swimming pool!

Panská skála

Would you believe that you can fit all these experiences into a single day trip? Let us tell you how! Explore the fairytale-like Panská skála, take in the views of the Lusatian Mountains and the Czech Central Mountains, and head over to Active Point to rent a scooter. You will need to reserve one in advance at the Active Point rental shop. From there, follow the marked trail to Česká Kamenice. It leads downhill, and even children aged 8 and up can handle the descent.

Česká Kamenice – swimming pool and viewpoints

In Česká Kamenice, head to the beautiful municipal swimming pool where you can cool off in the crystal-clear water after an adrenaline-filled adventure but also grab something to eat at the nearby Lesní Bistro. If riding scooters is not enough for you, follow the yellow- and then blue-marked trails to the lookout points above Česká Kamenice.

A view of Česká Kamenice from the Jehla lookout point

Among some of the most attractive ones counts the Jehla lookout point. It features a short, secured via ferrata, adding some variety to your hike. You can rent a via ferrata set at Active Point at the swimming pool. All you need for a full day of adventure is athletic clothing and a swimsuit.

The Kamenice Motor Train

You can return to Panská skála either by taking the Active Point car or the Glassmakers’ Motor Train from the Česká Kamenice station to the station in Kamenický Šenov where the Glassmakers’ Trail begins. This trail offers a pleasant, educational walk to round out the trip for both children and adults.

Naturally, you can also start the entire trip in Česká Kamenice and tailor it to your preferences.

Where to next, we hear you ask?

Next time, you can head in the opposite direction from Panská skála along the bike path all the way to Česká Lípa. You will enjoy the views along this pleasant 18-kilometre route, where you will mostly just cruise along. What makes this route unique is that it features the longest downhill stretch in the Czech Republic. There is no need to worry about the return trip, however, as the price includes transportation from the destination back to the parking lot at Panská skála. The bike path will also appeal to cyclists and very experienced inline skaters, though they must bring their own equipment.

Come to the Lusatian Mountains for a truly unique experience and let them amaze you.

Crossing the Lusatian Mountains for the Whole Family

Do you prefer hiking with your family, with pets, or in your own company? The Upper Lusatian House – a Phenomenon of the Tripoint Region

The Upper Lusatian house is a unique example of folk architecture in northern Bohemia, Germany, and Poland. These houses are found nowhere else in the world!
