Stone

The columnar jointing of basalt and phonolite, picturesque sandstone massifs, and vast rubble fields form a landscape with elongated ridges and distinctive conical hills.

The symbiosis of igneous rocks and settled sands creates a landscape so charming that it attracts lovers of unusual experiences to the Lusatian Mountains and the surrounding areas. The long pipes of the local rock organ are a breathtaking sight to behold at Panská skála, Zlatý vrch, or Klučky. On a smaller scale, they can also be found in other places in the Lusatian Mountains. The sandstone rocks are a favourite spot for climbers and a welcome target for photographers, whether in the vicinity of Horní Sedlo or in Jítrava. Not far from Cvikov, off the main roads, you can find real treasure – the so-called Kunratice Switzerland.
